Coriander seed is used in prepared meat items and baked goods. The oil derived through steam distillation is used widely in the herbal teas which have become popular over the years. Also used in the manufacture of some forms of liquor to assist in setting color.
Coriander (Coriandrum Sativum) is an annual herb of the parsley famiy. It's dried ripe fruit is known as Coriander seed. The seed has a warm, distinctive fragrant odor and a pleasant taste, mild and seet but slightly pungent, reminiscent of a combination of sage and lemon.
